Default GreeN Items Killed the Market

Yes yes, gw focuses more on pvp and that u dont have to work that much to b good in pvp

But in PvE, The Introduction of the green item to me killed the market.
Look at green items. Their stats are perfect, and have most green items to match each need. The only reason why people dont get alot of green items is for the cool skins (but some green items have skins that isnt able to be obtained through a gold item).

My point is that they killed good principles and values, as well as patience.
Before green items, one would farm ALOT for a perfect item (15^50 30hp bla bla bla). And this type of item was very rare. it looks like every new feature of items is lowering the price of everything. With the inscription system, its even EASIER to get perfect items. What happend to the good ol Gold items that cost 100k+ for a decent skin and reasonable mods. Now a perfect modded weapon with a decent skin would cost less than 50k. Lazy people are being overrewarded, for an hour of farming would get them a perfect item (in stats)

Also when the green items were released, it immediatley killed the prices of REGULAR skinned gold items. Those item's prices went down, and hours of work were in vein.

I miss the good ol dayz, when a +30hp mod was work like around 85k
So now i see noobs running around with perfect items they shudnt have.
But atleast theres rare skins to still get and make perfect. and atleast not ALL items became inscribable.

Two sides to every coin, just like there is two sides to every arguement. You're just going to get either 1) "I agree" or 2) "You're wrong because now poor players who can't play all day now have a way to acquire perfect weapons and offhands."

Possibly 3) the occassional sarcasm ^^

One of The reason they have greens is so everybody can be properly equipped, and not just "ubber leet" like you who cry because they don't make as much gold as before.

And no, Being "Uber leet" isn't "cooL" Its pathetic and sad, But only the ones Who Comaplin about solo nerfs, And Show off there ware and act self ritious.

Like you.

and that elitest hardcore farmer who represents a sliver of the market is going to continue to be hammered as Anet will continue to make the game and items more accessable to the *noobs* that you feel dont *deserve* nice fun things because they didnt *earn* them by farming 6 - 10 hours a day.

sigils?......low price now

runes?......low price now

superior absorb?.........weep for the low price now.

ANET will continut to make things easier to get and harder for bots (human or otherwise) to make huge profits as stated on the GW website

I am amused.

As for the othe whining, theres nothing stopping YOU from farming your life away, as for the rest of us, most of us have better things to do.

btw, if FarmWars appeals to you so much, I strongly suggest you try World Of Grind. . .goodluck with your tier3 gear!

Hehe..

Greens were introduced for the people that posted above.

I miss the good old days too...GW doesn't hold my interest like it use to. (that sentence will be flamed)

Lol and you had to post in it to bump it up, rather than let it die...which I suppose this will do, though I suppose it will be closed soon.

Greens did nothing to the market. Chests, improvements to item quality, and improvements to salvaging are what killed the market.

Um, no. Greens have done great things for GW. Only thing hurting the market is the lack of an auction system, and that hurts the game lots. Without an auction system, people have to sit and wait for someone to buy their things. With an auction system, people can continue to enjoy the game, but their objects will be worth a little less.
- Finding someone to buy your valuable item for 30k with 1 hour of the day lost.
- Placing your valuable item up for auction with bidding ending maybe around 25k.

I know that the latter option would keep me interested in the game lots more. Losing time trying to make money in GW is hard to endure for me.

Leetsauce traders argued about this since the original introduction of Greens/Chests. I still think it was/is the wrong decision on ANET's part, but it is the path that they chose to take. I always felt like ANET's intentional disruption of the economy was short-sighted, yet I was disappointed by their half-ass attempt. If you are going to screw the traders, go all out... which they finally did (NF Inscriptions, Zillion Green Drop Weekend, etc).

Thanks for finally committing ANET. It took long enough.

Hmmm, the irony of overfarming, a growing player base and (my theory only) the developer's intent to make everyone happy by creating an equitable utopia for the average player. I have to ask though if your desire for the olde days is that farming was more profitable or it satisfied some deep-rooted pathos to attain a perfect item and show the GW world your good...fortune. Anyhow, I have a Ghial's Staff i'll sell fer 100K, no 80, no 60, no 40, no 35 for the best MM STAFF IN GAME!!!11!!.

peace

I too miss the days when things were so expensive that you'd either have to not enjoy playing the game to get money, or you'd have to go on ebay to fork out real cash. Damn shame...

Greens do not matter. I think I have around 50-60 greens across my account. I farm them if I'm bored, I may give to newbies who need help, I may even sell them to make some cash.

But they didn't ruin the market. I found an awesome spear the other day, sold within minutes for over 100k + ectos. I got an axe as well, sold it for 60k on guru auction. All gold and not green. And the greens have the same stats.

Greens are there to give players a chance to get equal items, without farming for hours. Maybe they have time commitments so they can't solo the UW or whatever. It's all for balance.

And even though I have 50+ greens, I still prefer my golds. And am willing to search them out. My dervish has every green scythe in the game (bar the new DoA ones, but I'll get them lol). I don't get them to use them, I get them to collect, give and sell extras. I don't even use them. I use this :Proof the market isn't dead.

And the people your calling noobs I can guess are also casual players. ANet made greens so that everyone could have perfect items creating a level playing field. And GW is PvE and PvP based not one more than the other.
Grow up and stop acting childish just because you can't fuel your greedy desire game currency.

why would one play the roleplaying aspect of the game to get good stuff instantly? whats the point of playing it if you just get good without hardly any work? and plus plz dont be complaining that the people that are more succesful in Guild Wars should get a life, and say that they themselves have lives. You dont have to play so much that you dont have a life to get good. Maybe some people are just better at seeking quicker ways of being succesful. its some noob excuse thats used in every online game.

and i didnt mean that it entirely ruined the market and good values, but it did have its affect. just sayin that the gw market would be alot better w/o them. and if ppl want good equipment, they should turn to the PvP aspect of the game. you dont really need all that stuff in PvE if you stumble upon a good group, its just for ppl who like to have the best. (which is in no ways bad.)
